Chadron Comm Hospital Tightens Visitor Limits

CHADRON – A day after confirmation of the first COVID-19 case in Dawes County, Chadron Community Hospital tightened its restrictions on visiting.

Director of Nursing Alisha Obando says no visitors are allowed with the exceptions of one parent or guardian for pediatric admissions and one significant other or support person for birth patients.

Minors coming in for appointments at the hospital can be accompanied by one caregiver while adults can have a companion if requested by their health care provider.

Obando says Chadron Community is encouraging friends and family members to use alternative ways to interact with their loved ones such as phone calls, Facetime, and Skype. The hospital will help patients without access to their own technology devices.

Chadron Community will also continue to screen all patients with everyone entering the hospital or Medical Center is required to wear a mask with one provided if someone doesn’t have one.
