Chadron Community Hospital Named To Top 100 Critical Access Hospital

Chadron Community Hospital and Health Services has been recognized as a 2022 Top 100 Critical Access Hospital by the Chartis Group, the nation’s largest independent healthcare advisory firm.

This is the 12th year Chartis has put out its list and the first time Chadron Community has been recognized for its overall performance, although it was cited in the quality category last year.

Chadron Community CEO Nathan Hough (Haug) says making the list means a lot because Chartis uses publicly available data to measure and monitor performance across a variety of areas impacting hospital operations and finances.

Hough says every employee of Chadron Community Hospital should take great pride in the award because it reflects their outstanding work in continually striving to provide better care to patients.

Chartis Center for Rural Health national leader Michael Topchik says honoring the Top 100 is one of the center’s highpoints each year, but even more so now because of the “unprecedented adversity” rural hospitals continue to face because of the pandemic.

Topchick says rural providers like Chadron Community Hospital “continue to display resiliency and a steadfast commitment to their communities,” so Chartis is “delighted to recognize the exceptional performance and innovation of this year’s recipients.
