Chadron Community Hospital Tightens Visitor Rules With COVID Upswing

Loading

With the continued resurgence in the Northern Panhandle of COVID-19, Chadron Community Hospital has again tightened its visitor guidelines.

Director of Nursing Alisha Obando says patients are now limited to one visitor with no visitors for confirmed or suspected COVID-19 patients. ER visitation is at the care of the provider.

Chadron Community Hospital already required all visitors to wear masks upon entering the building, but all patients will now be screened upon arrival with visitors expected to keep faces covered the entire visit.

Obando says the hospital and hospital staff understand the new restrictions are difficult for everyone, but see them as necessary steps to protect patients, staff, and the community.

The Panhandle has had 11,519 cases since the start of the pandemic with 204 COVID deaths and 10 deaths still awaiting confirmation as COVID related.
