Loading

The Chadron City Council meets in regular session tonight at 6:00 with an agenda that includes the first reading of the budget and city fee ordinances for the coming fiscal year.

In a change from usual procedure, the public hearing on the budget ordinance will be held at a special council session tomorrow night at 5:00 instead of at the next regular council meeting in 2 weeks.

Tonight’s agenda also includes amending the city land development rules to allow custom meat processing businesses in Ag-zoned land with a special use permit and renewing the city’s insurance coverage with the League Association of Risk Management for another 3 years.

The council is also expected to approve a contract with Olsson Associates for the preliminary design phase of rehabilitating the wildlife fence at the airport and a resolution to allow a historical marker for Mary Smith Hayward, one of the founders of Chadron, to be put in the right-of-way of the 200 block of West 2nd Street.
