Chadron School Board Buys New Bus

Loading

The Chadron School Board has approved buying a new bus from the Thomas company for $154,000 dollars.

The district will fund the purchase from its depreciation account, but will dip into the General Fund as well, if needed.

The school board last month approved spending $39,500 for a used bus because the district’s 2 current buses used for sports and activities are both unreliable.

Board President Tom Menke says the new bus will become the primary one after it arrives from the manufacturer, probably sometime in the latter half of next year.

The Chadron board also accepted the Fiscal 2021 audit, done by Gardner, Loutzenhiser, and Ryan CPAs.

Menke says the comments by Vince Ryan and his team were very positive and reflect the abilities and professionalism of the district staff.

Menke says the audit confirmed that Superintendent Ginger Meyer and the board had met one of their primary goals for the year – continuing to increase the district’s reserves.
