The Chadron State Foundation’s annual Fall Fund Drive had its kickoff last week starting an active phase that runs 3 weeks. This year’s theme is “No Better Time To Give.”
Foundation development officer Jake Rissler coordinates the drive and says while it still has over 100 volunteers of campus and community teams, there are some big changes this year because of COVID-19
One was the kickoff, which became a virtual event instead of a luncheon. Rissler says another is the potential donors probably won’t see the volunteers this year.
The Fall Campaign has 4 co-chairs, 2 from the campus and 2 from the community, each serving 2 years to provide continuity.
This year’s carryover Campus co-chair is Dr Shaunda French-Collins with Chamber of Commerce Director Gabby Michna the returning community chair. New for the campus is Taylor Osmotherly with Trish Martens new for the Community.
The fall campaign focuses on donations and pledges from businesses and individuals throughout Chadron and Northwest Nebraska with most of the money going for scholarships. Michna likes both aspects.
The campaign is also a friendly competition between the teams with prizes to both the winning campus and community team.
