Chadron Woman Arrested In Identity Theft Case

A Chadron woman is being held on $50,000 after being arrested Wednesday in an identity theft case.

47-year old Heidi Irish-Tunheim is charged with 3 felonies: Identity Theft, Criminal Impersonation, and Abuse of a Vulnerable Adult.

Chadron Police Sergeant Jarvis Wallage says the case is the result of a multi-month investigation into an unauthorized credit card opened and used in the name of an elderly Chadron resident.

Sgt Wallage, the lead investigator, says the case focused on Irish-Tunheim, who had direct contact with the victim in a trusted position as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Medical aide.

A search warrant was served at Irish-Tunheim’s residence with city officers and Nebraska State troopers seizing financial documents and personal electronic devices.

Also assisting in the case were the Nebraska Departments of Labor and Health and Human Services, and the attorney general’s Medicaid Fraud and Patient Abuse Unit.
