A Nebraska man has been charged with misdemeanor vehicular homicide in the March crash near Ravenna that killed 52-year old Curtis Deines of Chadron.
26-year-old Sergio Tinajero of Grand Island has also been charged with driving an unregistered vehicle.
Prosecutors say Tinajero was behind the wheel of a pickup just before 5 a.m. on March 19 when it collided with an SUV carrying Deines and other railroad employees at a rural intersection east of Ravenna.
Deines, a former Chadron State College football star and Hall of Fame member, died at the scene while 3 others in the SUV were injured.
