Cheyenne Grade School Teacher Charged With Killing Live-In Boyfriend

CHEYENNE, WYo. (AP) – A man is dead and a Cheyenne grade school teacher in jail after a fatal shooting early Saturday morning in Wyoming’s capital city.

Laramie County Sheriff’s officials say they arrested 33-year-old Danell Moyte for the death of 39-year-old Christopher Garcia, her live-in boyfriend Moyte remains in custody on a charge of 2nd-degree homicide.

Deputies arrived at the Cheyenne home occupied by the couple around 2 a.m. Saturday to find Garcia with a gunshot wound. He died later at a hospital. A Laramie County school district statement says Moyte has been suspended with pay.
