CHADRON – Two Chadron residents were arrested on felony drug charges Monday following a search warrant raid triggered by a tip from a private citizen.
32-year-old Colette Yardley and 44-year-old Alex Brodrick both face charges that include Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Distribute, Felony Child Abuse, and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Brodrick was also charged for being under the influence of methamphetamine. Bond for both Yardley and Brodrick was set at $50,000.
Chadron Police Chief Tim Lordino says his department received a tip about possible drug activity at a home in the Kenwood area that led to an investigation and the issuance of the search warrant.
Inside the home, officers discovered a marijuana grow system complete with heat lamps, grow lights, air filters, grow tents, hydroponic drips, and venting tubes.
Seized were roughly 35 harvested marijuana plants, a little over 2 ounces of both suspected methamphetamine and dispensary-grade marijuana along with small amounts of Shatter THC and THC wax. THC is the substance that gives marijuana its buzz.
Also seized were pipes for both pot and meth, syringes, pre-loaded syringes with suspected methamphetamine, scales, packaging materials and cell phones.
Assisting Chadron police were the WING Drug Task Force, Nebraska State Patrol, and the Nebraska Dept of Health and Human Services.
