Country Christmas In Northwest Nebraska Continues In Chadron

The Chadron Community Christmas Celebration, part of the Country Christmas in Northwest Nebraska, continues with multiple events today and tomorrow.

Running both days is the Sandoz Center Art Show and Sale, featuring works by a number of area artists and music by pianists Bobby Pace and Brooks Hafey. The hours are 10-4 today and 9-2 tomorrow.

Santa Claus will be at Farmers State Bank from 4-5:00, then will move just a little farther west and be joined by Mrs Claus to help with the first Chadron Christmas Cruise.

KCSR will play Christmas cruisin’ music from 5-7:00 with a live broadcast from the FNBO parking lot. Wrapping up the evening will be classic Christmas cartoons and shorts for families from 7-9:00 at the Downtown Plaza.

Tomorrow brings one of the biggest Chadron events of the season – the Kris Kringle Boutique, which has followed the Harvest Moon Festival in moving to Chadron from Hemingford. It runs from 9-4 and includes a visit by Santa and Mrs Claus.

In a similar vein from noon-5:00 is the Stateline Casino’s Kids Christmas Shopping Day – a chance for kids to buy gifts themselves for family members and to get them gift wrapped for free. All items are under $12 and there are dining specials as well.

Friends of Pets is holding its annual Pictures With Santa from 11-2:00 at Bomgaar’s. Proceeds from people and their pets getting their picture taken with the Jolly Old Elf benefit Friends of Pets and several shelter animals will be on hand for adoption.
