Chadron State College Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management Dr Tara Hart has been named to succeed Jon Hansen as Dean of Student Affairs when Hansen retires June 17.

CSC President Dr Randy Rhine says he’s really pleased we had a proven leader and accomplished advocate for students such as Dr. Hart on our campus” to take over for Hansen.

Rhine says he’s confident in Hart’s abilities and believes her leadership and knowledge of student affairs prepares her well for her new position.

Hart says she’s elated to be chosen for the Student Affairs post and excited to serve the students and campus community.

She says she looks forward to “continued collaboration with students, campus departments, and the community of Chadron to support our students in their pursuit of success in and outside of the classroom.”

Hart says she takes a student-centered approach to helping them achieve their goals, adding that she loves meeting CSC students and learning all about them as she tries to make sure what they learn outside the classroom complements what they learn inside it.

Hart is a Nebraska native who came to CSC last April as Interim Director of START, then was named in November to the new Associate Vice President position created as part of an administrative restructuring.

She has extensive experience in working with students, academic programs, and operational units in a more than 2-decade career in higher education.

Hart has held various posts, mostly in administration, at 8 different colleges and universities including 4 others in Nebraska – Wayne State, College of Saint Mary, Midland University, and Union College.

She also was an administrator at Truman State University in Missouri, Arkansas State University, and Angelo State University in Texas.

Hart’s first day as Dean of Student Affairs will be June 18. A search for the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management position will open soon.
