CSC Grad From Oral Crowned Miss Rodeo America

LAS VEGAS, NV. – A Chadron State College graduate from Fall River County is the new Miss Rodeo America. Jordan Tierney of Oral was crowned Sunday in Las Vegas from among 27 state queens as part of the National Finals Rodeo.

A competition barrel racer who earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration two years ago, Tierney is the fifth Miss Rodeo America from South Dakota and the first since Mackenzie Haley in 2011.

As Miss Rodeo America 2020, Tierney was awarded a $20,000 scholarship from the Miss Rodeo America Scholarship Foundation and will serve as an ambassador for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association for the next year.

Her role as ambassador is fitting since her father, Paul Tierney, is a former PRCA tie-down roping champion who was inducted into the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in 2008.

Miss Rodeo Nebraska Eva Oliver of Merriman was the 2nd-runner up, scored highest on the written test and won the speech category. Oliver graduated from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis last year.
