There will be a meeting of a specially-appointed committee on Monday, June 27th to select a successor to the vacancy left open following the untimely death of former Dawes County Commissioner Levi Grant.

KCSR News had previously and incorrectly stated that this was a commissioners meeting.

The committee consists of Dawes County Clerk Cheryl Feist, Dawes County Treasurer Sam Wellnitz, and county attorney Vance Haug.

The individual appointed will fill the remainder of the term held by Grant, who represented commissioner district three, which will roughly be two and a half years.

This meeting will be open to the public and will begin at 9:30 am.
