Dawes County Attorney/Coroner Vance Haug says a rural Crawford woman who collapsed at her home on Wednesday afternoon died of natural causes.

The dispatch center in Chadron received a call about 1:30 pm of a woman collapsing at her home.

When rescue personnel arrived, they immediately began resuscitation efforts, but were unsuccessful and 33-year old Katie Yoder died at the scene.

Haug was then contacted and reviewed the initial investigation by the Dawes County Sheriff’s Office, which included evidence and witness interviews, then ordered an autopsy of Mrs Yoder to assist in determining the cause of death.

The autopsy was performed Thursday at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff with the findings leading Haug to conclude Mrs Yoder died of natural causes.
