Early Primary Election Ballot Requests Start Monday

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) – Nebraska voters who want to cast an early ballot in the May 12 primary election can request one as early as Monday, but the first early ballots won’t actually be mailed until April 6th.

Secretary of State Bob Evnen says counties that receive requests for early ballots will maintain a list, and those ballots will be among the first ones mailed.

Evnen also says some counties sidestep some of that process by maintaining a permanent early voting list of voters who have indicated an ongoing preference to vote by mail.
