Educational Service Unit #13 is promoting Assistant Director of Special Education Jessica Broderick to the director’s job, completing the transition when the new school year starts late this summer.

Broderick has been with ESU 13 for 9 years, filling a number of positions in Special Education including Speech Language Pathologist, Secondary Transition Specialist, and Special Education Coordinator.

ESU 13 Administrator Dr Laura Barrett says the board and staff are thrilled to have Broderick lead the Special Education Team because she brings a variety of experiences that will provide high-quality leadership and support in the school community.

Broderick says “it’s been a privilege to be a part of ESU 13’s Special Education Department for the last 9 years (and) have seen first-hand so many of the amazing services and supports offered to students in the Panhandle” and she’s grateful to be able to continue to work with both ESU 13 staff and member districts in her new role.

ESU 13’s Special Education Department provides direct services to students as well as support and training to teachers, districts, and families.
