Federal Judge Blocks Vaccine Mandate For Health Care Workers In NE, Wyo, SD, 7 Other States

Gavel

A federal judge in Missouri has blocked the Biden administration from enforcing a coronavirus vaccine mandate on health care workers in 10 states including Nebraska, Wyoming, and South Dakota.

The states, all with a Republican governor, attorney general, or both had joined together on the first legal challenge of the mandate, which requires workers to get their first dose by Dec 6 and their second by Jan 4.

The judge ruled the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid had no clear authority from Congress to enact the vaccine mandate for health care providers that participate in the two government programs.
