The Chadron Police Dept says one of the two suspects in the armed robbery Saturday of Cheema’s Gas and Liquor in Chadron is now in custody.
33-year old Ashley Two Two is being held in the Scotts Bluff County Jail on $250,000 bond on one count of aiding and abetting armed robbery. The second suspect, a male, remains at large.
Chadron Sgt Jarvis Wallage says Two Two was one of two individuals developed as “people of interest” after several days of collaboration between Chadron police, the Nebraska State Patrol, and the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety.
Sgt Wallage, who chased the two suspects onto the Pine Ridge Reservation after the robbery, says Two Two turned herself in Tuesday to the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office in Rushville where she was interviewed by Chadron police and the State patrol, then arrested.
Wallage says Chadron police are still asking for the public’s help in identifying the male suspect or his location. They believe there are people in the area who know who he is, and that he’s fled the state and is no longer in Nebraska.
Investigators are also still looking for the gun that was used in the robbery and for any of the items taken – cash, liquor, several lighters, and cigarettes.
