Loading

A fight Friday between a man and a woman landed the woman in jail on drug and assault charges.

29-year old Samantha Rouillard faces single counts of possession of cocaine and felony 2nd-degree domestic assault. Her bail is $25,000.

Chadron Police Sgt Patrick Young says officers were first called to the intersection of Bordeaux and East 1st Street for a fight between a man and a woman walking on the railroad tracks.

Both were covered with blood when the officers arrived, The man, whose name has not been released, had a large laceration and bite marks while Rouillard had scrapes to her legs and elbows.

During separate interviews, Rouillard and the man said they’d been fighting each other. Officers found Rouillard had a white substance in a plastic bag that field-tested positive for cocaine.

The Chadron VFD was called and the Rescue Units took both Rouillard and the man to Chadron Community Hospital where they were treated for their wounds.

During continued interviews with both, the officers were that Rouillard had used a railroad spike as a weapon during the fight and that it likely caused some of the man’s injuries. Rouillard was arrested at that point and taken to the county jail.
