Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts has announced that all U-S and state flags will fly at half-staff on Saturday in honor of former Congressman Brad Ashford of Omaha.

The 72-year old Ashford died of brain cancer on Tuesday and his funeral is Saturday at 10:00 in Omaha at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in north Omaha.

A Facebook post Wednesday from the Ashford family says details are being finalized for a livestream of the funeral.

The post also says the family has been “so blessed to receive this outpouring of support as we celebrate Brad’s wonderful life. Thank you all. We love you.”
