Former NSP Trooper Challenging Bindover For Child Enticement And Child Porn

Loading

A former Panhandle Nebraska State Patrol trooper facing 16 felony charges related to child enticement and child pornography in Scotts Bluff County is preparing to challenge his bindover to face trial

Attorneys for 24-year-old Brandon Dolezal say they’re working on an amended Plea in Abatement motion arguing the evidence presented at his preliminary hearing was not sufficient to send the case on to district court for trial.

The criminal investigation into Dolezal began after a teenage boy told a school resource officer at Gering High School that two girls he knew were messaging with an older man on Snapchat.

Court documents show that law enforcement interviews with the two girls and a search of Snapchat records revealed that one of them had sent explicit photos to Dolezal and that their conversations were sexual in nature.

The State Patrol fired Dolezal in March after an internal investigation and he was arrested in May. Nebraska Assistant Attorney General Sandra Allen is the special prosecutor for the case.
