Gering To Interview 4 Finalists To Be City Administrator

GERING – The Gering City Council next week will interview 4 finalists to be the next city administrator, succeding the retiring Lane Danielzuk, and 3 of them are very familiar with the area.

Two are current Gering city employees. Pat Heath is public works director and has worked for the city for 29 years while Tammy Cooley is human resources director as well as the long-time Morrill city clerk/treasurer.

The other finalist with Panhandle ties is Pam Caskie, a consultant and former Director of Planning and Development for the City of Sevierville, TN, who was the Alliance City Manager for 5 years more than a decade ago.

The fourth finalist is Dustin Stambaugh of Littleton, Colorado

Gering Mayor Tony Kaufman says the city received 9 applications, offered interviews to 5 finalists, and had 4 accept. Interviews will be July 8, 16, 20, and 23 with the goal of extending an offer by the end of the month.

Mayor Kaufman says each candidate will be interviewed by the council, take a community tour hosted by Twin Cities Development, tour city departments, and have a Meet and Greet with him, the council, city board and commission members, and department heads.
