(AP) – Governor Pete Ricketts has named an Indiana administrator as the next head of the Children and Family Services Division of Nebraska Health and Human Services. Stephanie Beasley has spent more than 13 years with the Indiana Department of Child Services and is currently COO of Adult & Child Health serving central Indiana. Her first day as Nebraska Child and Family Services Director will be Feb 24. Ricketts says Beasley will be a great asset to the state with expansive frontline and executive experience in helping children and families live better lives. Health and Human Services CEO Dannette Smith calls Beasley “a real find for us” because she has the “compassion, energy and a depth of knowledge needed to do this work.” Smith also says she’s confident Beasley “will be able to quickly integrate with the team and provide valuable insight and oversight to CFS.” Beasley admires her new boss, calling Smith “a magnetic person and committed leader,” and says she got “more and more excited” every time she talked with Smith and the CFS team because their passion for the safety of vulnerable children and strengthening of families underscores” her own life mission.
