Police have arrested a man for the Monday night shooting death of a woman in a home in Kimball.
      36-year-old William Serrano is being held in the Scotts Bluff County Jail on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter in the death of 21-year-old Tessa Ghering.
The Nebraska State Patrol says the two were in a relationship.
     Kimball police were called to the home about 8:45 and found Ghering dead with a gunshot wound to the head.Â
    Investigators say two children were in the home when the shooting occurred, but neither was injured. The Patrol says the children are now in their mother’s custody.
     The investigation is continuing with the State Patrol the lead agency, assisted by the Kimball Police Department and the Kimball County Sheriff’s Office.
This is the first shooting death in Kimball County since October 2003.
