A Pine Ridge Reservation woman accused of murder in the death of a child under the age of 7made her first appearance in federal court Wednesday afternoon.
33-year-old Billie Jean Red Owl of Kyle is charged with 2nd-degree murder and felony child abuse and neglect
Red Owl remains in custody. She faces up to life in prison on the murder count and a maximum of 15-years if convicted on the child abuse count.
