Chadron’s Art Alley Paint the Town community murals project starts its fourth year today on the alley of GLR – Gardner, Loutzenhiser, and Ryan – CPA, located on the southwest corner of 2nd and Main.
Chadron Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Gabby Michna, one of the founders and driving forces behind Art Alley, says 3 days of painting have been scheduled from 9:00 in the morning to around 3:00 in the afternoon.
Michna says everyone of all ages and abilities is invited to come and help paint the mural. She does caution, though, that while kids are welcomed to take part, a parent needs to be there as well for those under 12.
Michna says one of the best things about Art Alley has been the support of businesses and individuals with donations that make it possible to provide everything needed by the volunteers.
The Art Alley murals are essentially giant paint-by-number works with the design outlined into segments and the appropriate colors defined.
