The Great Plains Fire Information Center says lightning is blamed for a fire Wednesday evening that burned 12-acres of federal land 10 miles southeast of Smithwick, SD.
The Kneebone Fire was reported just before 6:00 PM and was declared contained at 9:00 PM.
A combination of state and federal firefighters and equipment responded to the Kneebone Fire.
