Man Arrested For Shooting At Highway Workers Near Rapid City

     South Dakota authorities have arrested a Rapid City man for allegedly firing shots at construction workers along Hwy 79 south of Rapid City Monday afternoon. 

       53-year old Carl Reif of Rapid City charged with 6 counts of aggravated assault for allegedly pointing a handgun at construction workers and firing multiple rounds.

     Pennington County Sheriff’s Deputies and South Dakota Highway Patrol troopers converged on the area after receiving reports of a man shooting at the construction workers and others.  

      A sheriff’s spokeswoman said it appears Reif had no connection to the workers or anyone else at the shooting scene.
