Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Competition Begins Tonight

The Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Competition begins tonight at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, and wraps up Friday with the crowning of the winner drawn from contestants from all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Representing South Dakota is 17-year old Kianna Healy of Hartford while Miss Nebraska’s Outstanding Teen is Jamie Rose Chen of Scottsbluff. Both were crowned last month.

Pageant contestants normally arrive in Orlando about a week and a half before the competition begins, but that was cut by more than half this year because of COVID-19.

The young women didn’t arrive until Sunday, just 3 days in advance.

All the contestants will have a private interview with the judges with half having the fitness and lifestyle categories and onstage question tonight and their talent preliminary tomorrow.

The other half has the opposite schedule.
