Missing SB Residents Found Dead In Pickup In Storage Unit

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (AP) – Scotts Bluff County Sheriff Mark Overman says the 2 people found dead Friday morning in a pickup inside a self-storage unit just west of Scottsbluff were a man and woman reported separately as being missing for 10 days.

18-year old Maci Bailey and 29-year old Beau Gealy had been believed to have been together with the sheriff’s office heading the search for Gealey and the Scottsbluff police department the search for Bailey.

Speculation began as soon as the discovery was made about 8:30, but Sheriff Overman didn’t release confirmation of the identities until the afternoon.

Overman said the pickup, which belonged to Gealy, was found by his father, who owns the storage facility. It was later towed from the scene to be examined by investigators.

Overman said nothing was found at the scene that immediately indicated foul play, but that the case is being treated as a homicide for investigative purposes until foul play is ruled out. An autopsy has been ordered, with results and an official cause of death not anticipated until next week.
