The Rev Jerry Lawson, a Missouri Synod Lutheran Missionary in the Baltic nation of Latvia, is at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Chadron today as the speaker for its annual Mission Festival.
Before going to Latvia over 4 years ago, Lawson was a missionary in Russia as a theological Instructor – so he has some unique insights on some of the impacts of the current war between Russia and Ukraine, about miles south of Latvia.
Lawson will deliver a Power Point presentation at 9:00, deliver the sermon during Our Savior’s regular morning worship service, then take part at 11:15 in a potluck that will end in a question-and-answer period.
Everyone is invited to one or all of Lawson’s presentations, but those attending the potluck are asked to bring a main dish and either a salad or dessert.
