The South Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of the 9-year old boy who was killed in a single-vehicle accident last Thursday afternoon near Deadwood.
9-year old Kelton Pullen of Deadwood died at the scene on Hwy 85 about 10 miles north of Deadwood.
       The Highway Patrol says Pullen was riding with 40-year old Jessy Pullen of Spearfish when their pickup left the roadway, went into the ditch, and rolled.Â
Neither of the Pullens was wearing a seat belt. Kelton was pronounced dead at the scene while Jessy was taken to a Rapid City hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Jessy Pullen’s sister, Becky Nelson, told the Black Hills Pioneer that his injuries were substantial and his recovery will take many months.
