NCAP CEO Karen Eisenbarth Retiring

Northwest Community Action Partnership CEO Karen Eisenbarth is retiring at the end of this month. Eisenbarth joined NCAP almost 14 years ago as HR Director and has been CEO since 2013.

Board President and Dawes County Commissioner Jake Stewart says the search for her successor has already begun.

Eisenbarth, a Chadron native, says she’s leaving with “mixed emotion – joy, pride, and sadness” because serving as the leader of what she calls “this incredible agency” has been the greatest honor of her life.

She adds that the decision to retire was “made easier knowing the extraordinary capabilities and commitment of our Board of Directors, the leadership team, and our entire staff to continue to serve our communities.”

Stewart says Eisenbarth has provided “exceptional” leadership in helping NCAP to expand programs and partnerships while implementing technological advances to provide exceptional service to clients.

That work was cited when Northwest Community Action Partnership was named the Chadron Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year in 2019.

Stewart also praises Eisenbarth and her team for the agency’s response to the COVID pandemic. He says they immediately began offering remote services to clients to make sure NCAP continued to meet the needs of each community it serves.

Northwest Community Action Partnership is a non-profit organization providing a range of human services programs to help improve the lives of low-income residents in the Panhandle and help them achieve economic stability.

The agency has over 75 employees and while its primary service area is the 5 counties of Dawes, Sioux, Sheridan, Cherry, and Box Butte, it also has programs that serve the entire Panhandle
