Neb Demos Support Attending National Convention Virtually

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) – Nebraska Democratic Party State Chairman Jane Kleeb supports the decision by the party’s National Committee to turn this year’s National Convention into a mostly online event because of the coronavirus.

The convention is scheduled for Milwaukee on August 17-20, but party leaders have asked delegates to stay home – although Joe Biden says he’ll be there to accept the nomination for president.

The Nebraska state convention earlier this month was also conducted online and elected a diverse team of 33 delegates from across the state.

Kleeb, who is also chair of the Nebraska delegation to the convention, says the that when plans are finalized, they will release how Nebraskans will participate including including possible watch parties if public health standards allow.
