Murder/Kidnapping Suspects Waive Extradition To Neb

IMPERIAL, Neb. –  The 3 people charged in the kidnapping and death of a southwest Nebraska woman whose body was found near Imperial and the kidnapping of another 22-year-old who was found safe are all scheduled to appear in Chase County Court this Wednesday.

24-year old Kevin German of Colorado Springs and 22-year old Koenna Carter of Taylorsville, Utah, each face 9 felonies and 2 misdemeanors including murder and kidnapping while 44-year old Russell Mann of rural Enders, NE, faces 2 counts of accessory to kidnapping.

German and Carter had been arrested in Fort Collins two days after authorities found the body of 22-year old Annika Swanson of Imperial in an irrigation pipe in a field near Imperial. Both waived extradition back to Nebraska last week. Mann has been in custody in Nebraska since the body was found.

Court documents show that Carter told investigator German beat up Swanson, then she joined him in forcing the lightly-clad Swanson into the pipe on Thursday, Nov 14. The body was found on Sunday, the 24th – 3 days after Swanson’s father reported her missing.
