Nebraska COVID-19 Total Climbs To 791, Deaths Stay At 17


HEMINGFORD – The number of COVID-19 cases in the Panhandle is now 26 with 2 more confirmed on Saturday. One is a Cheyenne County woman in her 60s who has been isolating in her home since April 3 The other is a Scotts Bluff County man in his 40s and isolating at home since Thursday.

Panhandle COVID Unified Command says 447 coronavirus tests have been conducted in the region since March 2nd. Scotts Bluff County has 13 cases including 3 recoveries while Kimball County has 10 with 3 recoveries.

One of the two Cheyenne County cases has also recovered while Box Butte County had its first confirmed case reported on Friday.

Panhandle Public Health District Director Kim Engel says Unified Command is strongly advising people not to visit or host anyone over the holiday weekend that they don’t live with, suggesting instead using virtual or phone options.

Nebraska had 791 confirmed cases of coronavirus/COVID 19 Sunday night along with 17 deaths from the disease and 9.900 tests that have come back negative.
