Unattended Dawes County Death Ruled Natural Causes Posted by John Axtell Date: January 22, 2021 2406 Views Dawes County Attorney/Coroner Vance Haug says a rural Dawes County man found dead in his home Wednesday morning died of natural causes. Haug says a Dawes County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched after the discovery of the body of 88-year old Leonard Elwess about 8 AM. After a preliminary investigation, the deputy contacted Haug, who arrived at the residence a short time later. Haug says that after an evaluation of evidence at the scene, a review of Mr Elwess’ medical history, witness interviews, and consultation with medical personnel he concluded Mr Elwess had died of natural causes.
