Nebraska Tops 300 COVID-19 Deaths Posted by John Axtell Date: July 18, 2020 5 Views LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) – Nebraska has topped 300 COVID-19 deaths. Two fatalities were listed yesterday, giving the state 15 in the past 3 days and 301 since the pandemic began. Stateside, there were 227 new COVID-19 cases report – the fourth time over 200 in the last 5 day, to bring the total to 22,361. There have been 16,665 recoveries and only 105 of the active cases are hospitalized with 37% of the state’s hospital beds still available along with 39% of ICU beds and 79% of ventilators. Panhandle Unified Command confirmed 5 more cases of COVID-19 on Friday, including a Box Butte County man in his 60s – the county’s 5th case. There were also 3 new recoveries, including one in Box Butte County, There have now been 374 positive tests, 298 recoveries, and 5 deaths – leaving 71 active cases including 2 who are hospitalized. The Panhandle’s 6,298 tests have resulted in a 5.9% positivity rate.
