Nebraska state government collected more tax revenue than had been projected in January.
The Nebraska Dept of Revenue reports net tax collections of $453 million dollars,$73-million or 19.1% higher than the certified forecast.
The department says all 4 categories of taxes – individual and corporate income, sales-and-use, and miscellaneous – were above the estimates set by state Economic Forecasting Advisory Board in July.
Net tax collections are also higher than expected for the current fiscal year, which began on July 1. The state had collected $3.321 billion as of the end of January, roughly $282-million or 9.3% more than projections.
