CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) – The leaders of the Wyoming Legislature say they will not call a special session later this month to respond to immediate economic and social impacts caused by the coronavirusafter all.
Speaker Steve Harshman and Senate President Drew Perkins say in a joint letter that an anticipated five-day special session in late June is no longer necessary because lawmakers have already completed the work they needed to accomplish.
Harshman says the decision to cancel the special session was made in part because of the lack of federal action that might require state action. Another special session could still be held later in the year, depending on the state’s needs.
