Noem Activating National Guard For Temporary Hospitals In Rapid City, Sioux Falls

PIERRE, S.D. (AP) – Governor Kristi Noem is activating the National Guard to set up temporary hospitals in Sioux Falls and Rapid City.

The temporary hospitals will add 100 beds in each city as hospitals prepare for a surge of coronavirus patients.

Noem continues to defend her decisions not to mandate business closures or issue stay-at-home orders, arguing that her approach will help keep some semblance of life and economic activity during the pandemic.
