NPPD, Wells Fargo Present $16,650 Scholarship Donation To WNCC

SCOTTSBLUFF – NPPD, Nebraska Public Power District, and Wells Fargo Bank, have donated $16,650 from September’s 28th annual Nebraska Open golf tournament to Western Nebraska Community College. The gift will be distributed evenly to WNCC’s three campuses.

This year’s Wells Fargo Nebraska Open raised $185,000 for student scholarships at WNCC and 4 other Nebraska community college areas – Central, Mid-Plains, Southeast, and Northeast. Over its 28 year history, the tournament has raised more than $1.6-million – including over $330,000 that’s gone to WNCC.

WNCC board chair Lynne Klemke offers thanks to Wells Fargo and WNCC for their continued support of the state’s community college system and WNCC in particular, with the annual gifts having “impacted the lives of many students.”

Klemke accepted a ceremonial check last week on behalf of WNCC from NPPD Account Manager Terry Rajewich and NPPD Board Member Charlie Kennedy.

Rajewich said “Nebraska’s economy is stronger because of the education provided through the Nebraska community college system, and Nebraska Public Power District is stronger for having the ability to hire these students.”
