Loading

Police in Omaha shot and killed a man Sunday night to end a standoff that saw hire repeatedly fire a gun. His name has not been released.

Authorities say when officers arrived at the southeastern Omaha home in response to a call, they heard shots being fired inside.

A police negotiator talked with the man for about 20 minutes before the man walked out of the front of the house holding the gun and fired several shots.

Police repeatedly ordered him to drop the gun, but instead he advanced from the porch and fired the gun again before several officers opened fire, killing him.
