OST Issues Home Quarantine For All Reservation Schools

Loading

The Oglala Sioux Tribe has issued a home quarantine order on all K-12 schools on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, effective Wed, Sept 15.

OST Vice President Alicia Mousseau says the quarantine order is in response to an increase in positive COVID-19 tests in Pine Ridge schools and the rise of the Delta Variant on the reservation.

Mousseau says the quarantine is needed to protect the Oglala Lakota Nation because of the number of students under 12 not yet eligible to receive the vaccine and the number of multi-generational households on the reservation

The quarantine is for 10 school days for all students and non-essential school staff from today through the 28th.

The quarantine is 5 days for essential personnel, which includes administrators, cleaning staff, and cooking staff.
