  •    Oglala Sioux police say a tribal officer shot and wounded an armed individual early Saturday morning after responding to a domestic disturbance on the Pine Ridge Reservation and finding a man dead. The FBI is handling the investigation.

The Oglala Sioux Tribe Dept of Public Safety says in a release that officers were dispatched to a Hwy 41 address in Oglala around 1:30 a.m. Saturday for a possible domestic violence situation.

After arriving at the scene, a tribal officer found the body of a man, then encountered someone brandishing a weapon.

The officer fired, inflicting non-life threatening injuries on the suspect, who was then taken into custody. The officer was not injured, but no other details of the incident have been released, including any names.
