Panhandle Suffers First Traffic Death Of 2020


OSHKOSH, Neb. (AP) – It took less than 2 full days for the Panhandle to record its first traffic fatality of 2020.

The Nebraska State Patrol says 65-year old Michael Goebe of Omaha was killed in a 2-vehicle collision a little after 4:00 Thursday afternoon on Highway 26 just west of Oshkosh.

The State Patrol says Goebe was eastbound when he pulled out to pass a semi and collided with another semi coming the other direction. The name of the other driver and whether he was injured has not been released.
