A Pine Ridge Reservation man was arrested early Monday morning after he allegedly hit a police cruiser with an SUV in downtown Rapid City, then tried to flee the scene.
24-year old Gregory Brewer of Pine Ridge is being held on counts of DUI, hit-and-run, leaving the scene of an accident, and no valid license.
Police say witnesses told investigators Brewer failed to stop for a red light and crashed into the patrol car around 1:20 am. Brewer and a passenger fled on foot, but were caught about two blocks away.
Officers investigating the accident found several open alcohol containers inside Brewer’s SUV.
