Pipeline Crack Spills 45,000 Of Diesel In Eastern Wyoming

Loading

A pipeline carrying diesel fuel has cracked open and spilled more than 45,000 gallons in a rural area of eastern Wyoming about 10-miles east of Kaycee.

Joe Hunter of the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality says cleanup work is ongoing for the spill discovered July 27 on a private ranch.

The ruptured line is owned by Bridger Pipeline, which is already being sued by federal prosecutors over previous spills in North Dakota and Montana.

Bridger is a subsidiary of the Casper-based True Companies. Federal prosecutors alleged in a pending federal case that previous spills on Bridger lines violated environmental laws.
