Rapid City police say the death of a man whose body was found in a residential garage Tuesday night was an apparent homicide.
The name of the victim has not been released, nor has the identity of a 40-year old Rapid City man considered a person of interest in the investigation.
Officers were dispatched to the garage about 10:30 p.m. for a welfare check on an unconscious man, but when they arrived he had already died.
Authorities have not given details on his injuries, saying only that they were consistent with a homicide.
Officers interviewed a number of people at the residence and identified their person of interest as a result.
